About H4D

Our charity is built on the experience of our volunteers, many of whom have spent multiple years volunteering for various care based charities.

Holiday 4 Disabled receives no government funding or support from NHS Organisations. The charity is run by a volunteer committee, all of our carers and fundraisers are volunteers and we have no employed staff. These volunteers give up their free time and annual leave to provide a fun-filled, action packed activity holiday for adults over the age of 18. Our Holidaymaker’s have a wide range of disabilities from autism to cerebral palsy, both walking and in wheelchairs.

The Holiday does not provide 24 hour nursing care, with care provided by volunteer carers, supported by a nursing team. The nursing team do liaise with our Holidaymakers GP’s if the need arises.

The Holiday also provides much needed respite for families and carers of our Holidaymakers. Some of these families have never had a holiday or time to themselves before, safe in the knowledge their loved ones are cared for.

The week away includes days out to the beach, animal parks, activity centers and many more exciting places. We also provide “in-house” entertainment throughout the holiday in the way of Quiz nights, arts and crafts, sports and games, Gala night and disco.
